Why Lead Quality Decides a Pellet Long Before It Is Formed

It is tempting to think pellet accuracy is decided by the press. In reality, much of it is decided far earlier — in the purity and consistency of the lead itself.

High-purity lead swages cleanly, fills the die completely and produces a uniform, defect-free skirt. Inconsistent alloy, by contrast, leaves voids and density variations that shift the centre of gravity from pellet to pellet — and a wandering centre of gravity means a wandering group.

That is why we control material specification tightly and draw our lead wire to a precisely held diameter before a single pellet is formed. Consistent input is the only foundation for consistent output.
